About

Giorgio Garzella (b. 1995) is a photographer and visual artist based in Milan, born in Pisa but raised in Bologna.

With a scientific academic background, he earned a master’s degree before beginning his career as a schoolteacher. In late 2022, he was awarded a scholarship to the Istituto Italiano di Fotografia in Milan. After completing the two-year programme, he continued his training through two specialised courses, “Futuri Prossimi” and “photograph-ER”, in 2024 and 2025 respectively.

His longstanding passion for the visual arts and the humanities drew him to photography as a meeting point between the two. He explores photography as a way of connecting with others, seeking to build authentic relationships through images.

Working across personal projects and commissions, his work has been published in outlets including Apartamento Magazine, GQ Italia, Atman Journal, Perimetro and Vanity Fair Italia.
